Telerilevamento da satellite di eventi precipitativi: analisi sul bacino del Trasimeno

Simultaneous rainfall analyses using AMSU/HSB and AMSR-E passive microwave measurements and thermal infrared measurements from MODIS on board the spacecraft AQUA are presented for several rainy events over the Mediterranean area and, particularly, over the Trasimeno lake, in the central Italy. The threshold for rainfall identification and the rain rate retrieval respectively from thermal infrared and microwave brightness temperatures were compared with ground-based raingauge measurements acquired in the Trasimeno lake area, evaluating also the performances of different retrieval algorithms.
